14/2/14
Charlotte and I work on our warm ups just to get our voices working
we hum up the scale, and down the scale, we do this humming process for about 20minuits then start out main song.
Charlotte and I have been working on two songs, "the one that got away" by Katy Perry and
"help the people" by birdy.
10/3/14
We have been learning more about warming up your voice. You need to warm up your voices so your voice can relax.
me and charlotte Copeland done some humming up the scale to VA VA we have been working on a piece called the one that got away". i rehearsed with Charlotte in our singing lesson with our teacher Mrs Colligan. It went really well, we were able to stay in time with each other. Mrs Colligan played the piano for us and me and Charlotte sang the same melody line. Mrs Colligan said that I needed to work on opening my mouth and relaxing my jaw, being able to stretch it etc. I haven't given any feedback to anybody else this week.
This is an example of one of our rehearsals and lessons with Mrs Colligan.

This is me and charlotte singing "help the people" by birdy, we sung in front of a a small audience.
Me and charlotte were really unprepared because of the lack of time. I was also quite nervous because of course having to sing in front of an audience, we only got through practicing half of the song that's why I walk away in the video.
For next time me and charlotte have to perform we will pratice a bit more and get through the whole song.
We also recorded a song together with Abbie and Kelly, in preparation for our audition pieces. I'm really pleased with this performance, I think our voices blend well together.
May 2014
We have been working on rehearsing with our teacher Mrs Colligan, and we performed in front of some friends and Mrs Colligan and Miss Harris. I have built my confidence enough to sing through the whole song, and singing by myself.

condencer microphone
Condenser microphones span the range from inexpensive karaoke mics to high-fidelity recording mics. They generally produce a high-quality audio signal and are now the popular choice in laboratory and studio recording applications. They require a power source, provided either from microphone inputs as phantom power or from a small battery.

dynamic microphone
Dynamic microphone is for the drum kit. The reason i chose a dynamic mic for the drum kit is because it has a better flow for instruments and because you can direct it straight towards the cone of the amp, it only picks up the instrument not background sound which gives a much clearer sound.
acoustick drum kit
acoustic drum kit because i would rather use an acoustic drum kit as a pose to electric because I prefer the sound.
mic stand
a mic stand is used to hold the microphone, if you where a guitarist and singer you would need a mic stand.
an acoustic guitar is completely different from a electric,
an acoustic guitar would suit a more softer singer (slow)
it has to be able to suit a sertain track.

This is a very good start Kelly. Please update your blog each week to show your progress. Use this blogging structure:
ReplyDeleteExplain in each blog:
- Warm up exercises you have learnt or completed this week
- What pieces you worked on this week (repertoire)
- Whether you rehearsed with somebody else accompanying you or performing with you, and how that went.
- What feedback you received from others (including your tutor) and how you acted on it
- Any feedback you gave to other people on their performances
Write a detailed review of each performance, what went well, and what you need to continue to work on.
